COVID-19 Pandemic Precautions:
Within the last 14 days, you consent that you:
- Didn’t Have Severe difficulty breathing (e.g., struggling to breathe or speaking in single words).
- Didn’t Have Severe chest pain.
- Didn’t Have a very hard time waking up.
- Didn’t Feel confused.
- Didn’t Lose consciousness.
- Didn’t Have a Fever.
- Didn’t Have a Cough.
- Didn’t Have Sore Throat.
- Didn’t Have Runny Nose.
- Didn’t Have a Headache.
- You didn’t travel to any country outside Canada in the last 14 days (including the USA).
- Didn’t provide care or had close contact with a symptomatic person, known or suspected to have COVID-19.
- Didn’t have close contact with a person who travelled outside Canada, in the last 14 days who has become ill or symptomatic ( fever, cough, headache, runny nose or sore throat)
According to the HSF guidelines, both participants and instructors must be pre-screened for COVID-19 symptoms and potential exposures as per Self-Assessment criteria on the province of Ontario website. (https://covid-19.ontario.ca/self-assessment/) prior to entering the training facility. This self-assessment is online (it is not a test) and will not take too much of your time. So please take the time to assess yourself before the course. Please save your results as a screenshot on your phone and show it to the instructor as you enter the course. |
I- Personal Information
Your information is only used for the purpose of the course and further contact regarding any inquiries you may have about our courses.
II- Health And Safety Precautions:
- If you have any history of “Heart Issues” e.g. Heart Attack/Angina etc.
You should consult your physician/specialist before attending any of our courses. - If you have any respiratory illness or disorder e.g. Asthma/ COPD
You should consult your physician/specialist before attending any of our courses. - Pregnant ladies should consult a specialist before attendance.
- For any rheumatic (bone and joints) issues, consult your specialist before attendance.
III- Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation / Red Cross Guidelines Compliance:
- Ability to comprehend and successfully demonstrate all required skills, including critical steps.
- 100% attendance and participation; 75% minimum passing grade on a written, closed book knowledge evaluation for all First Aid courses; and adherence to the Fundamental Principles.
- 100% attendance and participation; 84% minimum passing grade on a written, open-book knowledge evaluation for the BLS, ACLS and PALS courses; and adherence to the Fundamental Principles.
- Blended Red Cross; Standard First Aid, Courses:
- Failure to finish the online portion before the class will result in a $35 admission fee as well as a rescheduled class for the participant.
- Blended Courses are NOT upgradable at the class, as the online portion must be finished before the class.
IV- Administration & Fees:
- Students reserve a slot at a course once payment has been received by Hands2Care. We cannot book another student for the course unless you cancel your registration with prior notice.
- If you notify us that you want to change course dates 15 or more days before the course, we will accommodate your request without penalty.
- If you decide to cancel 10-15 days before the course, we will retain 10% of the tuition for administration costs.
- If you make such a request closer to 9 days to the course date, we will retain 50% of the tuition cost as compensation for preventing another student from taking the course.
- If you do not show up on the date of the course without prior notification to Hands2Care, no refund will be provided.
- In the event of an unexpected catastrophic event, Hands2Care will consider waiving penalties and will allow rescheduling of the course to another date, but will not provide any refund beyond that described above.
- Late attendance would cancel the course, and $25 CAD required to reschedule.
- Non-respectful attitude (racist/ discriminatory) towards other participants and or the instructors:
- Would cancel the course.
- Would be reported to the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation / Red Cross and local authorities.
